What to expectBowen Therapy for horses is a non-invasive hands on technique that promotes healing, pain relief and energy re balancing. Similarly to Bowen Therapy on humans, Bowen addresses the body as a whole and may help with a wide range of ailments, both physical and emotional.
During a Bowen treatment horses may display signs they are taking treatment on board including signs of relaxation; Yawning, licking, chewing and sleepy facial expressions, these are all signs of the horse releasing tension from its body. They may also show signs of their lymphatic and digestive system being stimulated; veins on legs, face and under the belly becoming more prominent. Their coats may also stand on end and develop "zebra striping" patterns across their neck and body. After It is preferable to allow the horse a rest period of 24 hours following a Bowen treatment. Your horse may want to drink more water than usual, have darker urine, darker/loser stools and may roll more than normal. Please note: If at any point you become concerned for your horses well being call your Vet immediately. Bowen Therapy is intended to be used along side a Veterinarians care and advice and not as a substitute. |

Fiona very successfully helped my horse recover from a sore back/neck and shoulders. Fiona was patient and kind with my young anxious horse and only treated as much as he could handle each session. Following his series of treatments, he looks physically like a different horse and mentally has made huge progress with his ability to cope with stress. Fiona is a natural and i would highly recommend her to any horse owner for rehabilitation and regular maintenance sessions.

Fiona is a knowledgeable, capable and gentle therapist who is talented at reading the horses and knowing how fast or slow to take the treatment for each horse. I am amazed at the softness and sometimes immediate relief which shows in the horse’s body language. Some of the horses take a couple of days for the treatment to really show - either way, the horses have shown me that this is something that they rate very highly and it helps them to live a happy, comfortable and pain-free life.

I have a horse with a case of kissing spine in her back which was very painful for her. She was absolutely miserable before her treatments with Fiona, she was very reluctant to get up and move around or eat. I cannot believe the difference the treatment has made to help her, and she's back to her happy self and Im also back to being able to ride her. Fiona was also super helpful, more than happy to any questions or queries I had about treatments or the follow up. Would highly recommend, could not be happier with the outcome!
